Our research interests focus on the
structural basis of the biological function of and the molecular
recognition of biologically important proteins.
Our target molecules include proteins related to neurological disorders and the immune system. By analyzing these proteins, we are going to understand disease mechanisms and develop new drug candidates.
We use Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy as a primary analytical tool. NMR is a powerful form of spectroscopy that provides structural information of macromolecules in solution. Our group investigates recognition mechanisms of protein-ligand complexes using NMR and also develops NMR techniques for that purpose.
